Washer tank leaks

Seems my window washer tank has a leak, the one next to the coolant fill. It's been that way since I got the car. Before it held some fluid but now it pisses out below the fender. Has anyone replaced/fixed that tank? Seems maybe the fender well has to be removed to get to it. Really hard to see in there.

There's a motor and a hose underneath, most likely culprit. It's actually pretty easy to get out. Pull wheel then the fender panel. There's just a strap that holds it in. Getting the old hoses and electrical wires is kind of a pia but not terrible

Ok Great! Thanks for the info. I will get around to it pretty soon as it seems to be getting worse. I rarely drive the car in the rain but sometimes one needs the washer to work. Previous owner must have let it freeze, but the car sat for years.

not necessarily, the motor is right at the bottom of the tank and that has a seal, then there are hoses on the output that could be dry and cracked too.

btw. try the orange rain x wiper fluid.. awesome, hardly even need wipers once the windshield is coated.

Yes, I have the Rain X, comes in orange and green. But now I need to fix the leak. The motor works, but fluid drains right out.

As it turned out, the leak was at the fill tube where it comes into the wheel well.



Since it only leaks when filling, I put some RTV sealant around the leak area. I first cleaned it with denatured alcohol.




I tried to get a nice clean bead around it but the RTV would not cooperate and besides, it will be hidden with the fender liner.
