What part are you lacking? Fuel or Spark?

spark

Make the alarm work and shut it off.
or Remove it entirely and restore the original wiring. |
Show pictures of alarm jumper.
You've either done it incorrectly for your year, else, there is an aftermarket unit. |
i jumped the #1 and #6 z plug, didnt work, but i also found that i have rusty connectors on the back side of panel to the relays, and a few completely rusted out relays! how do i clean the grey wire connectors?

I use Caig products, deoxit and some other electronics contact cleaners.
Pull the connector off, brush it good with stuff, dry, push it back on in the same location. One at a time. Local electronics supply should have it, here some some on amazon. Amazon.com: Caig Laboratories: Electronics |
my panel has 4 open plugs not being used, can i pull those and use them in the 4 rusted slots? cut the wires and plug back in to the new/unused plugs? will this work?

ground wires
remember to check continuity and resistance of ground wires...that is where I had my problems with no start... My ground wire to my ignition control relay was not making a connection all the time....sometimes it would and sometimes it would not..it looked good from a visual inspection.I ended up bypassing the stock wire (which tied in to jumper several relay grounds) and making a direct ground wire from the relay. hope this helps.

have u never ever started pcar (thats porsche car not in your case what you call poop brown, lol) - since u got it. and your beginning working your way into getting it operating . did you get 2 keys from prev. owner. if po only gave you one key, color? maybe its not the ignitions key.

i can get it to start but not by the key- i have the long black key and smaller red key also. i have started to rewire the panel- i have found alot of rusty terms. and wires all the way through them. some of the connectors are rusty and getting replaced with new plastic sockets and new terms.. all ground wires have been cleaned,or replaced.
|
i also found burnt wires-which im about to replace those- already replaced the fuel pump relay, fuel injection relay, two other misc. relays and a couple of terminal wires including the ground. fire spot is on back of Z plug-very light and N PLUG-melted wires

If you have more than few bad spots in the CE panel, buy a decent used one, no telling how much trouble is in the old one that you have yet to find. A good panel isn't that much money from a wreck that never had water etc on the CE to muck it up.
