928 repair manuals for free PDF..

Anybody aware of anyplace to get electrical diagrams in color, other than buy a set of manuals? I am going crazy trying to read these in black and white and I need the diagrams for an '84....

Say, if you really want to do the librarian thing, here's a suggestion.

Spend the BEST $70 you've EVER spent --- buy the Morehouse CD compilation of documents.

You get the manuals and wiring diagrams for all years in a somewhat searchable format.

But, more importantly, among other more historical information like a video of the Holbert salt flats run with the Holbert / Kibort car, you get dealer-type service updates that constitute three categories of information: 1) deep sub-assembly repair instructions for things like auto and manual transmission and fuel injection, 2) a series of 100-page plus documents for each year detailing to dealers the mechanical, electrical and service differences from the previous year's model, and 3) a bevvy of assorted technical service specifications, troublseshooting and bulletin information.

Actually, the most important background document of all is on the CD. The introductory 1978 Service Infor Tech by year document. It provides incredible information about oiling circuits, water circuits, drivetrain layout, steering, etc, that form the basis for your understanding in order to even begin home mechanic work.

This is the stuff that really helps you fix your car. I mean, really helpful.

Great, i bought a cd on ebay erlier and its great, however the free pdf workshop manuals are also very good if you use them as supposed..

i didn't say that either, im sorry if u got the impresion of that, this is the cd i bought: PORSCHE 928 1978-1994 SERVICE REPAIR Manual.... it is a cd to the work shop or a prof mechanic and is similar to the free pdf..
Try to remember that this is the 2 language.

many people and me included do just need info about the Little points that do the job easy to manage

I wanted to help you by telling you of another very important source of information.

In the USA a 928 owner made a CD. It has WSM. It has wiring diagrams. And it has dozens of special publications and updates that represent a very important source. He collected the documents with help of many people, scanned them, and made them available.
It helps me more than the manuals.

It is especially useful for USA cars, however, during the years when USA and ROW cars had fundamental differences. But it also helps with ROW cars.

The manuals have been there for a long time, I know you've commented about it before.
But apparently the scans are soon to be made available online.
It really doesn't matter much.

Hello all, I am a new 1982 928 owner and am looking for service manuals. The link from above sends me no where now, and the online links I find from google seem to go nowhere or to questionalble sites.

Does anyone have a quality link for service manual downloads or do I need to purchase one of the CD's available mostly on E-bay?

I know file sharing issues since the last post have become an issue.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Dang, you're right. This link worked as recently as February 2012. Hope someone knows the story....and gets it back, I was hoping to snag the 911 manuals too!

The bit torrent is still active afaik, but a google should turn up the current source.

The UK site used to be up and down depending on bandwidth used per month or something. Message on the main page says ....
Major update to the site to cure the navigation is due very soon ...

I snagged all of the manuals on Cannell while I could. I was smart about it. I looked for too long for a free 928 manual download. I got the 944, 911, 968, and 928 manuals.
