Flaring your fenders-not crimping lip.

I thought rolling your fenders justified a look like flares.
Perhaps I was wrong and what I really meant was flaring fenders.

Anyone know how?

Basket Ball -

Hey Mikeesik, I think most people understood what you were trying to do. I'm sure it can be done, it's just from what I have seen, the final result of several attempts by others at reshaping the wheel openings on a 928 did not turn out very well.

I might add that I have been successful in removing accident damage from fenders that were already flared. In several cases while working on a couple of 930’s, I used a deflated basket ball in between the tire and fender to initially get the original shape back. You simply move the ball around and carefully add air from the output of a regulated compressor line. For what it’s worth, perhaps this might work on a 928.

Good Luck, Michael

Great idea, not about to try it, but can't see why it would not work.

Rolling your fenders flattens the inner lip, and can push out the fender only slightly. The only way I have seen people flair a 928 rear quarter is by cutting and shaping it, then welding pie shaped sections into the cuts. Most have been reshaped to resemble a GTS flair.

I think Louis Ott made some add on flairs years ago. He may still.
