Brake Pad discussion : EBC GreenStuff
Anyone every use EBC Green Stuff pads? Was thinking of them however a few questions :
1-They are advertised as organic pads - In the past I have hated Organic pads (typical autozone replacement crap) on friends cars and have always suggested they use semi-metallic (at least in the front). Are these good organic pads ? 2-Dust : People say these generate low volumes of dust. Not terribly concerned about brake dust yet, however once the manholes go away I may be. Any experience? 3-Auto-x / Highway driving : These pads are advertised for spirited driving. 80% of my driving is commuter with 20 % weekend . I also wanted to do some local Auto-x events, however wondering how versatile these pads are. Can they do it all ? Also suggestions about pads other than the EBC's are very welcome. These were my favorite pads back in the superbike days (and their clutch kits). I may try them on the 928. Thanks in advance! |

Until you hit the track there is very little risk in trying a new type of pad. Street and auto x does so little to test the pad that it doesn't really matter. If they claim to be low dust and low noise try them.
Usaully I find that the OEM supplier has pretty much the best combination but I'm sure that there have been many improvements in the last 20 or so years.

I use the Green EBC pads on my 84'. So far (2yrs now) I've had very good results with them. Still get brake dust, BUT, not as bad as other pads I've tried, and they do grip very well!
I have the red EBC's on my daily Subaru Outback (2007) and the Green's on my 928. I really like them. Had no issues with them, yet!
