my s4's are becoming superficially boring. Any tasteful nychanges you've done?

Hello.
I love the 928. But as a 15 year owner, for some reason I wish to change the body style ...somewhat! It depends on what one can find.

NO CHEEEZBALLNESS!!!!

I'd like rear fender extensions.
I'm also thinking about the front!??

Your opinions about changing/and perhaps in your opinion if I am ruining a very rare and nice 928?

When one looks at 928 advertising from PORSCHE, and posters(wall) from way back, the light is subdued to make the front end flow or look solid. Look it up if you don't know what I mean. The front end is usually shaded.

It looks a lot like the front has a solid front end skirt adjoined to the bumper .
It does look very aggressive and good.

Has anyone been aware of this and has attempted. a change?

Pick one or the other, the two don't go together.

If you change the classic 928 enough for it to look different, you have changed it too much IMHO.

Wild paint maybe, but I would focus on making the interior more to my own taste and leave the outside its classic self.

Oddly now I'm a bit hungry for a cheese ball.

If you focus on the interior, in which I say is perfect and decide to change it; you have changed it too much. IMHO.
No one can add without degrading it. It is perfect.

As I say this eating K.D with xtra cheeze.

Take one of them and try to successfully lighten it. Take out all of the bells and whistles. You'll be surprised what a lightend 928 feels like. My '84 feels like a pig on wheels compared to my '83.

Owning a 928 is risky business - but sometimes you just gotta say "what the fudge".

Whats KD?

All of the interior is fair game IMHO, except the basic shape of the seats.

I have no problems with alternate engines, but stop short at body mods, engine bulge maybe, but only if it is a plenum clearance nesesary mod,
the problem with "kit car"mods, they allways look like kit cars.

You had a good idea with the vinyl graphics, which Joe Bob could hook you up with. I think a good set of 17 or 18 inch wheels with a five spoke design really makes a 928 stand out and look badass.

Both of your cars are either Black or Dark gray...any body mods would require paint right? Why not just change the color to something "unusual". The motor compartment can stay Black without looking odd at all. New wheels and you have a new car.

I would stick with changing wheels, maybe lights, suspension, brakes, etc., but not the body. Leave it stock.

+1 , drop it about 1", change the wheels, steering wheel, and a nice set of seats will make a huge difference in the feel of the car

disagree. I think wide rear fenders, 11 inch wheels on the back would take the ass end from miley cyrus to J-lo. I like the interiors just fine, and they look really weird when you throw in seats that stand out like sore thumbs. steering wheels also, unless you take a new porsche wheels that matches your interior.

Yes, I am with you! Keep it looking as a 928 and it will increase in value. These modifications will distract from any future value and I think these cars will be going up. I at least think the car is quite unique. Always keep everything you change in case the new owner would like it as stock. So few of these on the road now and what a pleasure to drive one. We are lucky to own these cars. I was fortunate to get a really well preserved example and I like the fact that so many here are keeping them going.

Or this...

And this is nice...

This, too, has promise:

But for me, I dig a 928 with a big wing:

But, hey, you can't see much when you're drivin' so, get something that'll make a difference where it really counts

I love the wide bodies. I think they are badass. It's kind of too expensive of a mod on a $10k, 25 year old car. Body kit + paint+ wheels+ enough engine mods that Subarus don't make you look like a jerk off just seems like too much at this point. When I bought my car I missed a chance at a Strosek widebody..been regretting it ever since

big fan of the wide bod.. that teal car above the pic with the plow has a real nice took to it.. almost would loook better with out the spoiler. color and wheels are a little to Japanese looking, kinda "brian spilner" ish , but the curves rival most.

don't even care if a subaru, or a vtech accord make me look silly, the fact that some people are so cliche' that they go buy something that everyone else has makes me sick. I have had mine for a year, and while driving... i have seen 0 928's and while in my truck I have seen 2. If i had a nickel for every dweeb I have seen in a subaru I would retire...

this kid who goes to my gym has a run of the mill blue wrx, gold wheels, spoiler that is to big, the whole 9 yards. He says to me: did you get a free toaster with that POS porsche... had no comment... just went to a 4th of july party, someone made a comment about my mullet and brown porsche, with out exaggerating girls come out of the woodwork .. " you have a porsche <3"

either way, i'd rather have a stock 928 than a subaru that any crumb with no taste can buy at dealership
