Clutch Master

Does anyone know if there is a rebuild kit for the clutch master? Mine is a bit leaky...

I picked one up from ******** a couple years ago, but don't believe it's still available. If the master body is in good shape, you could always leave it in place and just replace the innards from the new unit.

Below's a thread with some useful info.

Thanks. I got the slave at Rock on clearance for like 18$, cheaper than a kit. Not so lucky with the master, although it is only like 80$, so not too bad. I don't need it yet, just trying to plan forward.

You will spend about 10 - 12 hours changing the master cyl. If your blue hose is still good you can just rebuild it and leave it on the car while doing it. You can take it apart from inside the drivers footwell. It will only take about 1 hour if done this way. Be sure to catch all of the brake fluid and watch out for this problem with new master cylinders.

Blue hose does look ok, but I went ahead and ordered replacement hose anyway. I still have not found a rebuild kit for the master.

It looks like the rebuild kits are NLA. Try a google search with the part numbers and you may find an obscure source somewhere. Heres a thread that gives you the part numbers for the rebuild kits.

I would call Napa and tell them you're looking for Raybestos p/n cmk 1899 and see what they can come up with. They can be very helpfull.
