just had a pass the parts off idea?
you know how peeps have parts esp big or expensive to ship or cant ship or fragile, obsolete.... passing them off pcar delivery state through state chain like relay sticks. think theres enough pcars out there?, course the ocean could be a prob.
hey that be good before junyard dogs, or could only sell local , get a few bucks vs toss far more than the money helping a pcar go. solid long term honest trusted p peeps ... no stealing swapping .... someone needs a windshield, fender, seat, set of wheels...... and there half way across states sometimes just a couple states closer is enough to drive a few hrs vs impossible amounts of hrs away. if pcars not running use diff car/truck wheel and deal (picture) the part then could communicate a pp thread check in (relay stick)to know who has what when where. What bad idea?

Like a 928 syndicate? lol You would need a mailing list of 928 addicts. "Hi I'm Justin, and I'm a 928 addict". "I like to spend outlandish amounts of money on perpetually broken and obsolete sports cars" lol It's not a bad idea. It really would be cool to have a site maybe with a trading post that you could actually trade parts to other people instead of buying.

What works ok, if you plan ahead is to arrange some parts swaps to coincide with one of the regional gatherings.

That's a good idea too but there aren't many 928 gatherings close to here. The closest one to where I live is in Dallas. That's a five hour drive from here and my 928s are not up to that kinda stress.

I've had good luck using uship.com, its a ebay type clearing house for small shippers and private haulers. Guys that use a truck or trailer to transport stuff and sometimes are willing to fill it with a few smaller packages on the same route, or if coming back empty at a negotiated price.

Uship is actually a good way to ship a car. I was going to use it to ship a $1500 1984 928 Euro at one point, but I didn't buy it.
