Ya, They do what they're supposed to do. I just had to give it a try for the price and am not disappointed.

Chinese parts? Hard to believe a Bosch pump is that cheap. Please keep updated
Wondering if they spec out (PSI and LPH [Liters per hour] ) . too little of either could make difficult to diagnose fuel starvation issues.

If anyone gets one and it dies, if you can cut it open to see what its like inside, unless you have to return etc.

Tell you what; I'll reply to this thread when they die. If it's a reputable company...they'll still be selling them at that point and we can all switch to $35 fuel pumps. I'm the guinea!

Hopefully I won't be posting tomorrow.

The ad says they are 6-bar, 155 L / hr.

Is that within spec for a cis (k) ?

i got a new bocsh just about 1 year ago and it just died! i did buy a another one because of the price. im not to happy it only lasted a year! i pulled my tank and cleaned it so it's not a matter of sucking **** into it.

My question is this, Are carter pumps or the other pumps in the 350-450+ pumps really worth it?

Thanks, Steve

Hey Ron,

I just did the math on this and came up with a fuel delivery rate of 1291 cc/30 seconds for the pump we are talking about.

The manual says that it should be 1360 cc/30 for a duel pump set up.

However, I don't understand this next part...the manual says for a single pump set up, it should be 1120 cc/30 and a duel pump set up should be 1360 cc/30

How in the world does the engine know or care weither it is fed by one or two? Why wouldn't 1120 be sufficiant, and if it's not...shouldn't it just be 1360?

Anyway, I'm going to say we are within specs at 1291. I just bet some chineese company $35 bucks on it.

My 78 would not run with just one pump...i tried to bypass the second one under the wheel arch (it took a $hit)...nothing...i had pressure..but it just didnt want to run..so had to do both...as you say..it seems little diff's with one or two pumps from 1120 - 1360...but it knows..lol

The spec in the ad is likely sourced from the spec to the Bosch part, and only "loosely" related to the performance of the copy, and I think we can be sure these are basically a copy of the Bosch made at some small plant in China. Quality inside could be anything from junk to, well highly unlikely its Bosch quality due the cost, but maybe still OK.

No way am I going to depend on a $35 Chinese no brand fuel pump vs $182 for a real Bosch. When the fuel pump stops, all my fun stops, and I require a higher known quality for fun fuses.

The engine takes almost no fuel to start and run, just meet pressure and should be fine. If it would not start and run on one pump, something else was likely wrong. Only at full engine power, peak HP, would the rate become a factor, and its pretty likely one pump would still be fine and test would be for it to meet the pressure requirement at engine peak HP.

Both of my cars have Bosch pumps. I bought one of them and the other was replaced by the previous owner. Obviously he didn't skimp on that part either. The one in my '84 was new and has worked great for four years. Neither of them whine or make noise. I considered a cheap Walbro pump, but decided to keep the car Bosch equipped after replacing not one but five rebuilt Bosch alternators in our Mercedes before getting a new Bosch unit that has worked ever since. Some things I just don't skimp on. I was thinking of replacing my mechanical Bosch pump in my 911 with a cheapo at one point, but I rebuilt my original pump instead and it has worked great for about two years now. It kinda sucks that the later fuel pumps can't be rebuilt by the average schmoe. It's a large expenditure for a new one.
