Battery dead - turn signals

My battery died after leaving the car for a day or so and I did not know what was wrong. I wondered if it was one of these things:
  • I just had my AC charged up and find it discharges when I am sitting at idle.
  • My starter recently died and I just replaced it - I've often found batteries and alternators quitting seeming to follow something like this.
  • I went to buy a new battery, but they tested the old one and said it was fine.

Then today after I came out of a restaurant I saw that the turn signal and drivers side parking lights were on. I had left the drivers side turn signal on after I turned into a parking spot and turned off the car.

This is one of those interesting features on 928's that allows you to leave some lights on the car at night so your car is more visible to other motorists. It is also a feature that will drain your battery if you leave it on in the bright daylight without noticing and not come back to your car for a day or so.

Problem solved - whew - glad it was something so simple. I now have to try and remember to check the lights when I get out of the car in case I have left them on (or maybe should raise the priority of getting the self cancelling action fixed on my left turn signal).

Rick

Yeah, the same thing happened to me while I was grocery shopping, one day...Luckily, the battery didn't drain...Why the hell does a turn-signal stay ON even after you turn off the car!!!????
