Free '81 suspension parts, pickup only

I have the front and rear suspension parts from an ’81 928 left over from a project. Included are brake calipers (no rotors) spindles, bearings, springs, shocks, control arms etc., as well as sway bars, tie rods and some miscellaneous parts. I also have a couple of rear spindles and control arms, less the wheel bearings, off an ’85. All are available FREE to anybody who wants to pick them up, otherwise next Monday they go to the scrapyard. The overall condition of most the parts are decent, considering the age, shocks maybe original and hence seriously questionable. Sorry, I cannot seriously consider shipping this stuff, so please don’t ask. I hate to see this stuff get scrapped, but the parts are only of value to someone who needs OB parts……I am about 30 miles North of Houston, TX

A couple of folks have asked for more details on this stack of parts. Please see the attached photos, sort of interesting the ball joint brackets are aluminum in this late '81, titled as an '82, I thought by then the aluminum was long gone. Also, the driver side upper front control arm appears to be a more recent replacement, and 2 of the shocks (Boge) are pretty recent...the muffler is an Ansa I think from the label on it, not rusted out, a lot of stuff here, I will most likely need some of it in weeks if not days, but it all goes to the salvage yard next Monday unless someone takes pity on it and picks it up....

come on you cant be that cruel , what does it take for you to go over pick up dside upper control arm , put it in a box mail it to me.

------

im patching between the the tips on muff. are those two nice new silver looking things a cherry bomb like muffler, or the squarebox/muff (which is what im patching) rusted at boxes tips, id pound my tips onto it if box is good.

my front shocks are tubes of rust. then would take the time to go adjustable when replace.

if the up con arm isnt doing any more damage to tires getting trashed. wearing spindle dside down if yours isnt worn id check it out and swap out . no adjusting of wheel bearings is going to help worn out spindle itll need replacing.

why not make some monies on ob parts vs tossing, keeping the pcars alive. more than money your rewards.

You never know that might just be the bomb that falls short by sending all the salvage to china to meltdown make bombs and bomb us with, that you wont get hit by. GO AMERICA!!!!

please please im asking nicely to help out with good control arm. well yeah the rest maybe im starting to be a pain in the... neck but needed.

one biggish box 4 5 items pm you my addy and paypal/send you 100bucks to ship. please. not a begger but begging, haha.

I sent you a PM offering to ship you the control arm a few minutes ago.....and yes those are cherry bombs, they are off my '84 and are pretty much new as they were on my car for maybe 1000 miles. The Ansa weighs a lot, and it would not ship cheaply....regards the spindles, I can strip those down and ship you the raw spindles, or can ship you the entire assembly if you like, yours for the price of shipping. The springs and shock assemblies are heavy and I will not take them apart, I no longer have a spring compressor, and I came close to losing a finger the one time I thought I didn't really need a spring compressor to remove a shock...and you are very correct, I hate to junk this stuff....there are cars out and about that need the stuff...just don't seem to be in Houston area...tell me what you want and I will find a box and get you a shipping quote.....parts are free, shipping, not so reasonable, but will use UPS or USPS actual costs....

rather have the stocky muff, but when mine goes and it will a cheapo cherry bomb will do (will yours fit 82 think ive checked them for correct inch/2? to exit out back), than none, well matter of opinion. *if you think muff box isnt thinning/has some guts/baffle ill take it, i know the square/4bolt pipes a match. i may of had to do something/flip the armed bracket for a fit, itll work?

yeah heavy but dont know long term sound of the bomb and if muff is tossed and c bomb dont work out for me, i lose.

geesh yeah the springs i hear u. ill croak off having them shipped and have 4blue ones/boge just shocks but though rust bucket to see i get 2/3 bounce so there not shot. thought spring sacked out so bought the 4 alum spacer/acorns lifted em 3/4 inch thinking i was hitting bottom 180mm height to 160mm (dont make it seem so bad my tires are 15 not 16 so lower than spec there.) but no hitting found it to be clunk control arm. so took them back out,as i wasnt going to raise back, not ridic looking but feeling didnt care was saving my engine unders at the time. now your going to save me, pcar says yeah!!!.

spindle drive side was thinking i better as all the ouch going on there. is there a test to check if ive worn it,ill check to be sure? if needed yes striped be good only because ship weight . id have the duplicate parts to install, though i say that giving parts move . hope no spindle, dont kill yourself on that part ill check, how to?

When I bought my '84 the PO had fit the cherry bombs, all new exhaust, but he had never started it up or driven it....so it was duals with the cherry bombs and no crossover or x tube. Sounded like a '78 Buick running on 7 cylinders, only worse...I would stay with the stockstyle if you can, and yes, I think the rectangular Ansa can has quite a few miles left in it. I was planning to paint it and use it on another project, but obviously did not...regards the spindles, I understand you need to look for any wear on the underside of the spindle, or any bluing / brown discoloration around the bearing seat....keep in mind there is no salt used on the roads down here, so most of these parts have only surface rust where raw metal is exposed.....unlike NH and other northern states....
