Identify this part
928 members-I really appreciate all the help to date.
As I am still working to revive my 1st 928. I have completed many of the suggested "To Do's" as suggested by many and after reading the 10000 posts on others having the same situation--a dead 928. I plan on firing it up today but have a vacuum hose off and a what looks like a sensor that has 2 broken off nipples that I believe this line hooks up to. I do not see another line in the area--maybe one side is suppose to be capped off--again no manual so it is a crap shoot for me right now. So looking at the pics--what is it? Will if affect start up--surely a vacuum leak will be there(cap it for now)? I tried to center the pics--pointing down towards deck of intake with green corrosion (part of cooling system?). I looked on the parts diagrams on Pelican and could not diagnosis which parts it is. PO says it just stopped one day--sound familiar???? Here is what I have accomplished before I turn the key. *Full charged battery *Cleaned all grounds accept inner rear pass. panel grounds and hidden ground behind ac dryer pass side front(to do list still) *New cap/rotor *New pump and filter(pump was seized up-after soaking it did suck) *Drained and cleaned tank *Removed all debris from engine bay--critters love this thing-lol *Replaced a few hoses that were broken off by PO *Check and rechecked for cracked lines--yes the eyes can't see it all and I suppose all vac and fuel lines are in order asap. *Cleaned fuse board-all new fuses installed *Crossed #30/87 on relay-power to the pump *Pulled wire blocks from front of fuse block-checked--all shiny So here I go. Going to put in 2 gallons of fresh 93 octane and some Techron. If I had more time and $$$ I'd pull it down further--time will tell.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1343745346.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1343745370.jpg |
Relax (relax relax relax..)
We need some information first.. Just the basic facts (model year, has it ever run? ) Can you show me where it hurts? [Pink floyd reference.] |
1982 928
Crap--forgot the most important part---the year--dah.
Trying to chill--need to hear the rumble and of course- do more work on it. Turns over freely--bought it as non-running. The PO was obviously working on relays and fuel pump but not sure if they found anything out. Have 2 gallons ready to go into it--going to make an attempt and will post what I find out. Will jump both relays first if it doesn't fire (PR and IR) So it must be a temp sensor with vacuum ports to tell something to do something--like the technical terms--lol |
Don't know if yours is still intact but it should have has a vacuum line diagram on the under side of the hood.

Taking a wild guess ...
