convert 928 s4 to auto or ???

I am doing some research for a friend . He recently got a 1988 928s4 , it is in excellent shape . Here is the problem : He is handicapped and can not drive a standard shift .
He was looking into converting it to an automatic .
I am not sure on the 928 what this would all involve ?
New tranny ( or used ) but will anything else need to be changed ?
Is there perhaps another way to go and retain the standard shift ?
Hand clutch set up perhaps ? Clutch by wire ?
He really wants to keep this car so I am determined to get him going . In case you are all wondering , the disability is he only has one leg . Any and all help will be appreciated !!

Anyone ever done this before ??

Big, big project, as these are not easy cars to work on. Your best bet is to trade up to the automatic verson. A lot easier, and probably a lot cheaper too...

You could maybe modify the pedals to do heel / toe with the gas / clutch? It would take some practice, but I'm sure it could be done...

Is there anyone to recommend in either Cal , NV or AZ that would be able to do something like this . He was thinking of swapping out the tranny but I assured him there was way more to it than just that . I am thinking there will be alot of stuff needed to either be made or rummaged from a salvage yard .

If anyone knows anyone in the Ca , NV , AZ , UT area please let me know . Thanks .

Hello

Retrofiting a Shifter into a automatic body is though work.

Vice versa is mainly a bolt up swap.

However geting good parts and doing the swap in a shop without shortcuts will not be very effective.

I think the best would be to contact the 928 specilists or Devek.

Handclutch might be a way but the unit needs power or long ways so the best would be to contact Mr. Ruf and ask him if he can adopt his Electric clutch operation ( EKS ) into a 928. I think the costs had been around 8000 $ for 993 TT´s

Porsche also had a selection for handicaped like electric operatet wheel chair lifters and full hand operatinal.

The yalso made full feet conversions for Chromagan handicaped.

Those costs could be justified if your friend knews that car and knows that it is abouve the average level on the marked.

As manuals are sought more by people who need it I think it might be the best to part from it and get a Automatic.

Grüsse
