Reverse gear lockout
I have an 82 928 5 speed and I read through the owners manual and noticed a reverse gear lockout, meaning you have to shift in neutral between gears 4 and 5 and then back to get it into reverse? My car doesn't do that. In fact, sometimes moving from 1st to 2nd, I accidentally grind it against reverse. I really don't want to do that so I was wondering if there something that I can fix/ replace that is in the linkage or outside the transmission or is this something internal to the transmission that I can't fix without completely tearing the car apart?
Thanks. Brian |
