Fuel pump
So I get my car out this week to go for a quick drive. Came out of a store and what do I see but a pool of gas below my car. Turns out that the fuel pump had loosened itself from the metal line that goes to the filter. So I find some replacement copper washers and reassemble. No leaks, all good. Except - the fuel line from the tank that is clamped onto the fuel pump has a hissing noise. Does not drip fuel. Just hisses because of the vacuum. Is this normal? I would think not, but may not notice because of the shield is normally on. Will slightly sucking in air lead to a problem with the injectors?

Try cracking the lines slightly on the pump and run the pump, Then slightly crack fuel line up near rail and run the pump to get all the air out. and be careful.
maybe thread sealant too.

Hissing doesn't ring any bells for me, and I would think an air leak IN very unlikely.
At a minimum leave it open and check on it for a bit. |
