Throttle body rebuild Qs
Yesterday I got the throttle body stripped down. On an '85-'86 throttle body, are there supposed to be seals or o-rings on the main shaft? My TPS had oil in it, but I couldn't figure out where the shaft seals were supposed to be. Are they inboard of the needle bearings? I did not remove those - didn't see a good way to get them out without destroying them.
Second question - the screws on the butterfly. Mine were destroyed on removal. Does anyone know the correct spec screws to replace them, and how did you peen them down like the originals?

I think this thread should help you:
Throttle body leak: Is there a fix?- YES THERE IS! - Rennlist Discussion Forums Pelican should have those screws. If not, Roger at 928sRus can probably get them for you.

Thanks John. I am looking at couple options for the o-rings - from reading RL, many of the S4 guys just replace the bearings with new sealed units versus just trying to replace the o-rings. I am going to see if I can figure out a solution to do this on the S3 as well.
So far, nobody has an answer on replacement of the throttle body screws. Anyone here on Pelican have any info?

For that matter, I'm all ears if anyone has ever replaced the main butterfly shaft bearings on an S3 throttle body. All the discussion on RL seems to focus on the S4 cars.
