32v intake manifold removal

How do I remove the intake manifold on a 1985 32v? I have the side "boxes" off but need to know how to remove the central plenum.

Thanks in advance.

Each intake manifold is held on by two bolts into the head. There are 4 manifolds. The bolts are 8mm thread. 13mm head if I remember correctly. The big center intake is just clamped on the throttle housing via a rubber sleeve like on the side boxes(distributor housing in the parts manual). There are two intake gaskets for the 4 intake manifolds that you will have to replace. With the intake removed it is easy to pull your injectors and have them cleaned. I strongly urge you to have the injectors professionally cleaned. If you have no one local many people on the board have used Witchhunter. 20-25 dollars per injector. It will save you many running issues.

Thanks, I'll take another look.

before you remove the intake,
get an air gun and blow out the dirt from the around the injectors,
and the sides of the manifold.
this so dirt wont fall into the cylinders
