Thumbs up Thumbs up yesterday

I went for a spirited drive in my '83 928S 5-speed and on the way home blasting down a hill i could see a green 356 coming the other direction.
In the past in my 911 even, a 356 driver has never given me a flash and thumbs up they have usually turned up their nose. As we passed each other he had a big smile and a big thumbs up, i was surprised to say the least..
I think the 928 is finally becoming a real classic Porsche.

I concur with you acknowledgement from 911 owners.
I find 944 fella's are much friendlier.

I get so many people staring and asking questions about mine. Not from people with Porsches necessarily.. but just the common people (lol). And mines not even nice! People love the 928.

I think it's really nice, great paint color name. If it were mine i'd do a personal licence plate HELLBRZ

I just really thought the 356 would snub me.

HELBRNZ would be better, HELLBRZ might have people think i was a stressed out bra salesmen.

I sure don't live for it, but people admiring the 928 sure is sweet.

I never get waves or nods from 911 owners....

I guess they're just jealous!

It's that they think their car (911) has the real pedigree.
I never was like that when i only had a Carrera.
When driving my Carrera i would flash all but new Porsches
because they would never return the flash. Usually real tools.
I have thought about why he flashed and gave me the thumbs up,
928s are very rarely seen any more where i live. I see about as
many of them as 356s, which is very few.

Stan has illustrated the (4) 911s : (1) 928 sales ratio today.
Did the 911 driver's kind of snub you?
Great color Stan btw.
Not a particularly great shade of green on the Butzi design to me.

PCA members are usually friendly to all porsche owners,go to an event and you will see,,,911 owners dont snub anyone inparticular,,,new porsche owners are not usually club members and they are the elite,,,they may have no idea a 928 ever existed,,but what about these Ravens OMG

I worked in an Architects office with a fellow PCA member that drove a 1980 930.
He didn't even like my non-turbo 911, definitely wouldn't like the 928.
I didn't like that car it had tons on lag, off boost it was very sluggish.

ah,, to own the 930 is the ultimate in the porsche line for 1980,,,i can see his lack of attention for your car,,,but for most porsche enthusiast the crowd seems to be a bunch of helpful and friendly guys,,as far as the lag goes,,,who would care,,i beat 930.s on the track with my 911 so what? That does not make me a hater,,,the 930 is the most awsome car built in 1980,,,anyone would want to own it that could afford it. If it is attention you want pull up to an autocross event with your wife in the car and you will get recognition be happy for what you have,my thumb is up for you..
