Clutch slave cylinder
So I just did the water pump, timing belt change on my '81 5speed. During the installation, I removed the clutch slave cylinder to installed the flywheel lock. Now, after putting the car all back together, I cannot press the clutch pedal down at all. Did I install the slave cylinder incorrectly? If so, is there some little trick to installing it? Or could it be something else?

you need to look under the car at the bell housing ,
on the bottom of the bell housing there is an inspection hole, you need to make sure that the push rod is in fact placed in the release arm, from your info the push rod isnt there, and has extended and is pushing against something that wont move. solution , loosen the bolts about 7 turns, then slide the slave out, and using your finger guide the push rod into the release arm, a dab of thick grease on the tip of the rod is good

Thanks Merlin. That is exactly what the problem was. I fixed it so now I have Ol' Blue back on the road. Just in time for a gorgeous Southern California week of driving.
