need some information

Can anyone do me a huge favor and lift the leather shifter boot cover and take a picture of what theirs looks like underneath? I'm thinking either my interior came from an automatic or that my car is a full automatic to manual conversion. It looks like the automatic shifter slot underneath my leather boot.

Not that I care because it was obviously done right but I'd like to know for sure and be done questioning myself about it.

Thanks.

hey i don't want to jack your thread but since i saw this i thought i'd ask - i bought an 84 928s automatic about a year ago - it was part of a package deal with a 79 928 5 speed and a 83 944 - anyway the PO told me he was planning on swapping the trans and related 5 speed gear out of the 79 and turning the 84s into a 5 speed - i have all 5 speed parts out of the 79 (pedals, flywheel, dual clutch disks , torque tube) - is this possible - i've had the car in storage since buying it but next month it's coming home so i can start working on it - thanks

the early car also has an early 5 speed so you would also need to use the early rear subframe and TT you will probably need a 83 tach however.

These are the parts for the shift console.

Design and materials don't stand up to service very well.

So its a prime candidate for botched repair and hybridization of spare parts to make something that looks right, especially for selling a car.

For that reason, thinking your car is an auto / 5 spd conversion after finding an auto trans console insert beneath the boot is quite a leap.
