My car pops out of 1,3,5 all down gears up gears aree fine,what could it be ???? thank you ,,,84 928 s manual 5 speed wont stay in gears pops out only 1,3,5 though reverse,2,4 r fine work well. ????????:confused:

you need to readjust the shifter coupler
with the shifter n neutral have a helper hold it centered while you loosen the 13mm bolt that clamps the collsr on the shift rod of the transmission then re tighten the bolt .

IF the bushings are worn then the bushings neeed to be swapped out

is it done from inside car? it should be under boot or ? do i remove the center console? i really appreciate all the help thanks guys !!!!!

I see bad shift linkage!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I found out i have bad shift linkage bushingings whats the best way to get to them to replace all ? From under or from inside

the rear shift coupler is adjusted or replaced from under the car jack it up and support it on atleast 2 jackstands,
the coupler is just on top of the rear mating surface of the torque tube where it mates to the transaxle an allen setscrew holds one end and the other end is held with a 13mm bolt/nut
