Dash Sensor Cover?

Jajeng and Nicole sells them for around $41. That's slightly expensive for a quarter size cover. Anyone found a source for these for not so much moolah?

Try www.dcauto.com

I've dealt with them many times. Great prices

Are you talking about a used sensor cover? They are a bear to remove even with the center console out. I'm talking about a cover that actually goes over the existing cracked one.

Now that's funny. :)

Got the sensor cover today. It's a flexible plastic rubber material in gloss black. I was hoping it had a concave on the backside so it would fit flush on the dash, but to be fair, it does fit as pictured on the first post (metal ones). I'm "ok" with it. Your thoughts?

Lots better than cracked, points off for gloss more than the raised. If raised bothers you, maybe dremel time, but I think I would move on until a full dash out rejuve is done.

MPDano 06-06-2013 05:24 AM

Yeah, that was also a pet peave for me. I was going to hit it with Trim Paint (matte black), but I didn't know it was this flexible material. All bets were off then. Dremeling this material probably wouldn't work as well, it would most likely destroy it by melting.

Come to think about it, this is the exact same material that is used in the PORSCHE raised bumper lettering they sell as well.

Danglerb 06-06-2013 08:47 AM

I was thinking dremel the factory sensor face flush, or flusher. ;)

Pretty sure that's what is holding the sensor in the center console. Dremel that and it will probably fall inside :(
