Aero Mirror Options

Aero mirror option is a tricky one, i always look at mirrors that may 'work' on a 928. Very tough the aero mirror is really nice.

Bought them for the 911, very expensive, not buying them for 928 for a long time. Self employed and with what we went through with the housing market spending on expensive mirrors isn't happening.

IMHO new Mini mirrors are a big fat NO. They were looked at here while ago

But i have noticed some car mirrors lately that are close but the base angle is wrong (928 door is a steep downward slope)

Mazda MX-5 look decent but base angle wrong, saw a new Dodge Charger or something (not sure model) that looked right (door angle) but not sure the model, older 90s Corvette look like a decent mirror option but i don't know if they are cheap.

I have looked closely and compared and think the 'Lightweight' Daytona racer use the classic Vitalloni Baby Turbo mirrors which have been around forever are very cheap. but the rubber center area doesn't appeal to me. Knowing they were on the Lightweight does appeal to me and they are very light and still used for racing. I dont think they can be painted. Center flex rubber can definitely not be.

What do you all think of the classic Vittaloni Baby Turbo?

Will be installing the manual Aero mirrors on Just Peachy. Roger has them and they are a bit less than the electric's. T

I bought some M3 mirrors for my E30 and hated them. They looked good but they were too small and their roundness cut off half the viewing area. I took them off.

Can you post some picutres of the full car? I love this color. Is it an original 928 color? My father had a VW Rabbit this colour back in 1980 and I built a 928 model kit at around the same time and painted it this color.

IIRC, this is a modern day (Last 5 years or so) Porsche color called "Nordic Gold". Just Peachy is being assembled now, so no full on shots. T

Thanks Tony, I just PM'd Roger for a quote, will post. They were about $550 i think for my Carrera. (RS America mirrors, also manual)
They really can't be beat in terms of looks and are super light.

My Son has an original matchbox 928 from 1978 in Just Peachy's original color. Made in England then. Very nice quality, doors open very nice, paint very nice.

My Son traded another 4th grader for it. He came home and said something like; "Dad, look at what Decklan traded me for a new matchbox, sucker"
