MAF and other performance

After over a year I was able to get my car registered here in Kuwait. This is progressing toward the day I ship it back to Florida, Took it out and drove up to highway speed (140 K) and was really disappointed with the performance. Mechanic told me the MAF was shot and all the symptoms I could find listed on JDSPorsche site supports that diagnosis. Guess next step is to ship the MAF off for a rebuild. I also got a note from JDS that they have available new chips for the 86 euro that I have, has anyone used these and was it worth the expense or time to install? The MAF, perhaps, some electrical gremlins and one ticky lifter are all that may separate me from initial success on this car, that did not run from 2006 on. I have already replaced radiator, suspension (shocks and springs-Koni from 928 Motorsports) tie rod ends, boots, motor mounts, water pump, TB, rollers etc. Ignition wires, plugs, CV Boots, oil pan gasket, AC parts, sunroof cables and several switches, tires, fuel Gage sender, fuel hoses and all filters. This did not prove out to be a great investment, but I have learned great deal from the experience thus farand the car still makes me smile. Following along with many of your other projects has given me an appreciation for the efforts that many people put in on these cars. Guess if it was easy everyone would have one.

If you can get Sea Foam, pour some in the crank case. It will cure the lifter tick. Lifter was ticking on my dads 944, poured it in there and 5 minutes later it wasn't making a sound.

Good luck!

Chips are fairly new, but JDS knows his stuff and the US 85/86 sure had a lot of room for improvement via chips. Rennlist had a longer discussion of the chip release, but I don't recall a lot of feedback yet.

Keep us filled in how the import goes. Florida is easy state, but still DOT and EPA might be a pain even 25+.
