Anyone ever done a cross country rally?
As the title mentions. Anyone ever organized or done a cross country (coast to coast) rally a la' Gumball Rally? None of this across town stuff, either. Anyone interested in this year or next? Like twenty to fifty Porsches of different kinds/eras (and other sports car makes for that matter). Emphasis is on RALLY, and NOT race. It's actually a lot of fun, but requires a lot of planning. Need several cameramen (camera people) too. LA to New York. Heck, how about both ways?

Don't you have a couple of Porsches, 924? You shouldn't need to borrow one. Dust those cars off, and drive them!

My cars run. I'm just not sure about a road trip of that magnitude. At least not for any of our cars. Now if someone wanted to loan me a 991, I'd drive the wheels off of it.

Driving a few thousand miles isn't the issue with most 928's, its starting on Monday to get to work.

I would rather see a trip around Lake Michigan and back through Wisconsin. Nice two lane roads along the Lake, over the bridge to upper Mich., and back down. Many beautiful small towns, beaches, camp grounds, dunes, state parks, light houses on the Lake.

I used to be able to do that kind of thing and did drive cross country and back in my BMW 2002.
Great fun, now i use a Motorhome which doesn't quite take the twisties the same.. I'd be into doing a long couple day trip though.
