Tires

Just wondering what the trend is for new tires on a 928 stock rim. My car came with Goodyear F1's. The tires have a fixed rotation, so you can only rotate front to back, but not across unless you want to dismount and remount them. They are very noisy! Now I have a vibration which sets in about 75 MPH. The tires are about ready for replacement. I am going to stay away from fixed rotation tires. Looking for an all weather, quiet riding tire. So what is popular with you guys??

I'm super happy with the Michlin Defenders I put on our Continental. Very smooth, mostly quiet, but some road events like expansion joints make noise.

Look in to Continental ExtremeContact DWS. I have them on my 928 and they have been really good! They are asymmetrical, but not directional, so you can cross-rotate them however you wish. I even used them in the snow, back when my 928 was the daily driver.

My buddy has those on his Benz. They are a nice tire. I'm not a fan of all seasons since they do nothing well but if you need them.. these are good.
