these are my first steps in getting these to work I have another thread called electrical problems with lots of good advice on where to go after relays possibly don't solve the problem thanks |

Easiest and cheapest approach is to call roger and tell him what you are doing. I think the $5 53 relay is what I'm using for blower, defroster and AC fan. Most everywhere else either doesnt have the tech support/advice or the reliablity or the price point.

He is a competitor. just look up 928rus. His web page is limited but he has been very helpful to me. Pelican is also good!

There is no comparison, Pelican can acquire known stock 928 parts if you know what you want. They are 911 pros primarily and are full service for 911. Respectable -- reliable --- if you know what you want; apparently very knowledgeable about the other Porsche cars though..
This gentleman needs trouble shooting discussions, networking and smart parts substitutions, therefore should try to find the right path. Advance auto ain't it. Options are pretty much Sunset Porsche, 928 International, 928 R Us, Vertex and Pelican for new parts. BTW, have bought well over $11,000 in 928 hobby parts over the last few years, almost all of which are of the variety of mission-critical wear part replacements, water pumps, electrical sensors, etc. Zero bling driving that number. Am always looking to maintain a series of sources. Some suppliers serving the 928 community have gone all-out to find solutions to problems that have emerged over the years with core parts. R Us and International have a reason to be in my portfolio. I'd really like to add Pelican and will shop them more in the future, but their knowledge is limited to PET. I really want to feel good about the rest of them; wish I could afford to try the brand new rebuild service at 928 motorsports for transaxles, that is real interesting to me, sounds like a source for a critical service.

All of our suppliers have equal access to Porsche/Porsche replacement parts, half the relays are common across different models so most are not rare or hard to get. Just depends on who you trust more to provide you with what you want at the price you're willing to pay.
Personally I trust 928sRus/928I/ etc to ensure I'm getting what I need, because they have the hands on experience it takes to truly give these cars the attention they need/require. I can call any of them with an issue and they have BTDT many times over... I can't tell you how much I've saved by having one of them say hold on did you check x or y? Lemme send you z and see if that fixes it before you spend $$$$ to fix something simple... that you can't put value on no offense to Pelican or their sales folks......... I use almost all our suppliers for specific things, you'll get used to it

Whilst these genuine relays can be hard to find they are actually simple SPST relays. You can use any high quality Bosch type SPST or SPDT relay.
So you can use a standard '53B relay for either of these. (141.951.253.B) One with HD contacts (40A) and a standard pin out would be even better. This can be a really cheap replacement Vs. very hard to find factory specific labeled (but actually functionally fairly generic) parts. Alan
