'86 No-start

Are there are any 'usual suspects' for this? On a 911 of the same era, it is usually a cheap DME relay. Here's the situation - haven't had much time to play with this one:

-Started car on Saturday. Fired right up, as always, then died within 1-2 seconds later
-Have not been able to start it again
-Battery is fresh and tested good. Caps/plugs/rotors/wires all recent. Crank position sensor is new and I re-did the entire intake less than a year ago. Been running like a tank since then.
-Strong gas odor at tailpipe after a few seconds of cranking

Seems like a no-spark situation? I would suspect coil(s), but seems unlikely both would go out at the same time. I'm not even getting a 'woof' out the tailpipe...I've got nothing.

When it rains it pours...all at the same time I get this no-start, a coolant leak from the reservoir hose at the thermostat console, and a broken hood latch under the dash.

Jeez.

Check the EZF and LH relays - either going bad or the modules themselves going south will prevent a start ( assuming your CPS is still good!).

Thanks. I was thinking something like that, but just didn't know what to look for in 928 world. The engine died like a light switch and never came back, making me think something electrical/electronic.

Other ideas welcome, I'll check everything out on Saturday. I should have the aforementioned relays in my parts car, which ran fine prior to me pirating some intake parts...

Weird. I've swapped out the ignition, EZF and LH relays and the modules themselves with known good parts and nothing. I've got gas and spark and it has even fired half-heartedly a couple times. It is actually starting to make me think weak starter. Since this problem started the starter has seemed sluggish.

Anyone else?

Hook up a noid light to one of your injectors to see if you are getting a pulse... that way you will rule out your injectors are not firing.
May be a loose ground wire

No noid light but all my plugs are wet with gas. Cleaned and dried them out. Checked spark. Orange. Too cold?

Verified I am getting signals from both coils with a timing light.

Hooked everything up and tried again. Again, it started instantly, ran a second or two, then died.

Fuel pressure issue??

Maybe issue is too much fuel, I forget what causes that on an 86. Pressing the accelerator down I think is a suggestion for started a flooded car (too much fuel flooded), but defer to those who know the 86 better than I do.

A helper would be handy, to listen for fuel pump running etc.

Something to try, pull the vacuum hose off the fuel pressure regulators and smell for gas, if smells, they are leaking and need replacement.

And the winner is...burnt out fuel pump relay socket. Weird, as I had a lot of raw fuel smell in the tailpipe after cranking.
