928 manual trans axle for sale
I have a 1980 Manual trans axle stamped numbers G2803121180569. I am pretty sure this is the better of the two transmissions used in 928's. I live in the lehigh valley... 250.00 cash firm takes it. 610/698/7460

stamping on the bottom will ID it.
So will the type of studs holding on back cover ( bolts = G28 05, stud/nuts = G28 03. Both are very early boxes, 05 probably better. Much better box came out in 1985.

A G28/03 from the number given. Nothing special. Can it be confirmed that it doesn't "crunch"? Probably better to pull apart and inspect and sell the gears separate. most are NLA and very costly. Crazy, but a good gear could be worth more than the whole trans.

PITA to tear down without tools. Takes a monster snap ring tool to remove the like 2" one on the input shaft I think. Totally empty it can be reasonably safely packed and shipped UPS, like 3 LBS under 155 lb max if that hasn't changed.
