Purchased Parts Car

I'm restoring an 81 Euro 928S - I purchased this parts car for the whole exhaust - I assume that the 4.5L exhaust on the 1978 will fit the 4.7L of the 81? Will it?

HAHAHA! What's with these shifters? That's the 2nd one to show up! If you run the VIN, does it show the donkey dick option code?

Has been in a barn, covered, for 10 years. No title (which is not a problem)

I'm actually feeling a little guilty parting it out. I purchased it because it was complete, 84k miles, stick, no sunroof, and it was cheaper to buy the whole car than to make a new exhaust - I was just going to take the entire exhaust & stick it on my 81 Euro S.

Body is perfectly straight. I'll probably garage it, build it at a later date.

U boat Commander,

You and i must be pretty close to one another. I was going to go see that car when i had a chance.

It is a pity to scrap it, what could be done about the title?

I started a thread about that car on RL, (early OB on Craigslist) you should let everyone know you have it.

I'm not going to scrap it - I am "borrowing" the exhaust off it for my 81 Euro S.

$750 will get you a clear title for any car in the USA.

After I'm driving the 81 S, I'll do something radical to the 78

Mine sat in a field for 19 years, and had gotten a lot of water in it....much worse than your parts mobile. I hope you fix it up.

Congrats UBoat.
I was gonna say that your "parts" car looks better than all of the ones I reanimated before I started reanimating.

The more I look at it, the more it is becomming my 2014 project. When the weather clears, I'll wet-sand with 1200 grit & air-brush the blemishes.

Interior being done by Sabatini in Nazareth, then a Twin-Turbo. You heard it here first.

BTW, I am in the Philadelphia / Allentown PA area

I will do almost anything to keep from re-spraying a car - I would much prefer having an 80 point car with original paint than a 93 point car with new paint. Than being said -

I love wet-sanding & what it can do.

Paint on this car is completely oxidized. I took some 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper & some soapy water, and here is what I got;

Then I took the best wax / car finish ever created by man - Mother's Carnuba - and gave it a shot;

So there IS color under all that haze!

If anyone is interested in purchasing this car, it is 100% complete (minus entire exhaust) and needs full restoration. It is a stick, 1979. Let me know if you want the whole thing at $2100 or any parts off it - I will be selling the fuel tank, rear glass, quarter glass, etc.
