Word of Warning from "Don't Try This At Home Productions"
Did you know---
Washing a car with low tires, then having freezing conditions, makes your car stick to the ground until spring? Neither did I. Please, fill the tires or get it in the garage before freezing. Don't look like an idiot like I did. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1387067357.jpg |
Omg...that's too funny! Thanks for the heads up!

Unfortunately, I can beat your temporary set-back U-boat.
When changing the brakes on your wife's car, always remember to torque the lug nuts correctly afterwards. The wagon got alittle wobbly, and she got a little hot. I was going to save that for the hall of fame dumb ass repair thread, but there you go. There's a chance my quality of work suffers if it's not the shark I'm working on. |
Ugh - yes, I did the "forgot about the lugnuts" when I was a kid with a 65 Corvair. I don't think much can beat that for the "DOH!" factor.
|
Absolutely a "DOH!" moment, and no one to blame put myself...just in a hurry.:o
I can't even say it was when I was young -- it was two months ago. Maybe it was the repetitive brain trama that I incurred during college football. |

Not exactly a car repair event - My biggest D'oh moment was I let my LeBaron coast out of the garage before I started it up one day. I was about to take my son somewhere and he had not come out of the house, yet. After waiting a while, I got out of the car to go find him only to realize my car had started to roll down the driveway. The worst part - it was in gear with the ignition in the on position. When it rolled, it fired up. I gave chase managing to get the key turned off, but my legs and tennis shoes were inadequate for stopping it before it hit the neighbor's garage door. Insurance company: "Who was driving?" Me: "no one."

One day I was working on my Vette, just got done installing a new fuel pump. One of my chain smoking friends dropped by. He had a habit of putting out his cigaret on the ground then stepping on it and kicking it........right under my Vette. Next thing I see are flames shooting through the open hood about 4 feet. A fire extinguisher saved the car, just happened to have one right there!!!!!!!! Only damage, burned wiring harness.

I'm thinkin you need a little more HP if you were stuck to the ground. Do you have trouble if you run over gum in a parking lot too? :)

Make it a winter "Garage Queen", problem solved!
|
What is this white snow substance anyway?
