Rear tow hook/eye cover parts number?

Hello all,

The 928s arrived Friday and it was a bit of a calamity. More on that in the next few weeks.

It is however missing the right rear tow hook/eye cover and I cant seem to find the part number.

Is it still available? Anyone have a spare? Obviously I would prefer black, but can always paint one.

Thanks guys!

Try 928Intl for used parts.

They do have a 1/2 price sale throught the end of the year.

They might have one.

I think there is a plug that goes in the threaded part to prevent corrosion as well as the cover, but might not be all models. Antisieze highly recommended.

Looks like what I need is one of the round plugs that covers the access to the rear bumper bolts. There is one on each side of the car.

Plug Cap -

Hey Lowpassat - Have you checked with one of your local NAPA or ABC auto-parts stores for a generic rubber panel plug that will fit the hole in your bumper. Many times an auto-body shop will also have a large assortment of bins filled with all sizes of rubber plugs on hand. Just park your baby out front and find a couple that fit.

Good Luck, Michael

I had thought about this! I used those metal plugs on my old 66 Beetle to close up the holes in the fenders after putting Euro bumpers on!
Its great that someone else thought that up too!
