Found some more info about the barb style injectors.
Did some google, and I see 3 rubber bits

Porsche part number
311133261 small seal on bottom
311133263 larger flat washer goes above small one.

Mercedes Benz part number
1160780073 even larger rubber collar below clamp to intake.

Mike,
is there an economical non-factory substitute for these injectors? A few of mine were replaced by PO, but in the future I anticipate more to be replaced. -K

Interesting that the S4 flow is less than older models.

Danglerb 02-07-2014 05:32 PM

Flow is rated at X amount and y pressure, the S4 runs higher rail pressures than the early cars for higher flow. Higher pressure does better at atomizing the fuel as well.

K are you using Ljet injectors?

Catch is anything with a barbed hose fitting instead of the clip and orings is going to be used 30 years old or new expensive.

I have three sets I think of Euro S LH injectors, found one set of 8 today, but I need a few more than a full set if I send them to Witchhunter trying for a matched set. If I pull the 8 in the car that means it turns into a non running push it around.

I'm giving serious thought to upgrading to a modern injector with a clip rail mount, but that requires fabricating the rail and rail mounts. Not something I want to do when pressed for time.

Yes I'm running L jet injectors. They are working fine now, I was just planning for the future.
BTW- my wife wants to buy a second home and move to Utah, when she gets out of law school. If we moved there permanently I would probably have to put smog on my car (shudder) I wonder if they would let me keep my MSDS headers, and 3" exh system?

Talk to Dave Lomas in SLC for the scoop on Utah, no clue here.

You're not really going to let her boss you around? (pics of you in a apron plz ;)

L injectors are low ohm, barb fitting, I think a few other early cars may have used same, but 928 specific aren't hard to find.

I'm going to take a little look at finding a good source for parts, pintels, orings, and filters (found one in the UK).

Danglerb 03-11-2014 06:37 AM

Filter is Bosch 1 287 430 752
Pintel is Bosch 1 280 423 723

Don't know yet if either have generic equivalents.

Gemi hose clamp 0019976990 13mm Clamp for 7.5mm ID Fuel Hose

or maybe

Norma CHP13N

Caution needed with the clamps, some brands give a nominal size, some min, some max, and I am not certain either of these fit.

Gates 27335 5/16 ID hose is "I think" either 7/16 or 9/16, but I don't recall which or if that would include as fitted over the injector barb.
