Fuel pooling in manifold

Today while working on the car(84S) I had to remove the air cleaner base/airflow meter combo to have a look at some heater hoses. When I pulled it up, I noticed a bit of gas had pooled at the bottom of the orifice where the airflow meter fits into. What's up with that? I was working on it a couple of weeks ago and had the car running for about 30 minutes or so and may have left the switch on for a bit as well. Would a running fuel pump cause this? Relay sticking?

At base of throttle body, inside at bottom of elbow? If so, common.

Yes indeed, and thanks, I didn't think it was a big deal but just wanted to make sure.

Chris If your getting gas in the oil in the intake,
then you have a leaking cold start injector,
this isnt good as a backfire could possibly blow the intake apart.

I have heard of a few owners having the plenum blow off on an 85/86 32V engine it gets propelled into the hood leaving dents.

Usually its just oil sitting in the bottom of the intake

I remember when I took my intake apart. I found a light coat of oil. Always wondered about that. I was amazed how much debris is down in the valley surrounding that area from the last who knows how many years. Yikes.
