The beautiful 928S4 motor.

Hello, Pelicans. I hope this is a treat for those of you who have not yet had the opportunity to see one of these motors on an engine stand, and after a good cleaning (although not quite finished). This is simply a wonderful marriage of pure art and function, making them amazing to even look at. Quite impressive what you can do with some Citrisol, water, and a toothbrush.

Stay tuned for pics of the entire motor after the timing belt is replaced, and I put my valve covers and intake back on (anxiously waiting to get them back from the powder-coater)!!! ....Gotta go grab the timing belt covers out of the oven now. :P

Enjoy....

Looking nice. I don't care for cleaning much, but painting is fun.

Thanks Mrmerlin. Well, I talked to Roger recently about getting a Portensioner, and he's 6 weeks out for getting more, with or without air pump, which is why I'll just rebuilding mine, if need be. I didn't bother to ask him about the cork oil pan gasket (which I do have to replace the existing). Are the cork gaskets that bad?

The cleaning sucks, for sure. I did enjoy painting the covers (with ceramic paint - hence the baking), though.
