Installing wideband O2 sensor

Fellow Pelicans,

Now that the shark'ster's running again, I'm planning to replace the O2 sensor with a wideband O2 unit this weekend, and could use some insight from any of you who may have installed this in the past. The replacement unit is an Innovative MTX-L. Thanks!!!

Many run both, put a bung on each leg from the manifolds, the wide band I've heard can have response time issues with the old brains.

It seems like Leo (MPDano) did an installation with a gauge in his console, but I cannot find it in my search attempts.

I've installed the MTX system and like it quite a bit. the gauge was too thick to fit in the clock trim w/o cutting the metal in the console so i redid the cigarette tray to hold it. I left the stock sensor in place as ive heard of hiccups on feedback to the ljet system as well and prefer to avoid them. the only side effect ive noticed is that on some radio frequencies, i hear background interference coming from the gauge (grounding is fine for the gauge, might be my antenna circuit).

I put it in the Common Fixes Thread. Scroll about half way in this link.
