Will I be disappointed with a 928S?

Hi guys, first-off I LOVE 928's! I've never owned one but have a chance to. An acquaintance of mine is selling a 928S (1986 or 87) and has given me first dibs if I want it! (I have yet to get all the details on it yet though). I've owned a 944 turbo and most recently a 2000 Boxster. That being said, do you think the 928S would be a good choice? I absolutely love the cars! I know that depending on the maintenance history (timing belt etc) they can be like any other Porsche...
Anyway, thanks for an comments!

I would say go take it for a test drive. Have it all checked out by someone who knows the 928. It can be expensive to maintain. Considering how devalued the 928 is, it can be a great car for the money but I think the corner is being turned and the value is starting to go up.

That's what I'm thinking... its now or never for me as a 928 owner. I have always loved them and I think the future values will go up as well! Although my reasoning for wanting to own one has nothing to do with their future value but rather my love for them I've driven a regular 928 and have been a passenger in a 928S4... but never a 928S. I'll be seeing this person this weekend so I can find out tons more info on the car...

The 1987 model is an S4....1986 is an S. Easy to tell difference just by looking.
Easier to work on than the turbo in my opinion. I would say if the car is running well you would be happy with the car. The low end torque feels like the turbo without the lag.
