I thought women liked shiny things

If women like shiny things, how come my wife does not appreciate my nice clean pistons? Got the universal "grunt of disapproval" (plus an eye-roll) when I showed her the results of my efforts.

Maybe you guys will appreciate this, I thought they come out really nice.

FWIW hopefully the cleaning process was to dip the pistons into simple green then let them sit overnight then scrub with a toothbrush. and nothing else.

NOTE the pistons are coated with chromium iron,
this leaves a green coating on the skirts and will prevent the pistons from seizing in the bore.

If you use say for example a scotchbrite pad to buff the piston sides you may have damaged this coating.
Goodluck with the rebuild

Does look shiny, maybe too shiny, did you do anything to the iron coating on the skirts?

BTW its possible to put on a different coating, but its a bit hit or miss on reliability.
