There is a flat plug behind the fuse panel that can be disconnected and wires bridged to accomplish this on 85.

alrm disable
I presume this is the infamous Z plug do you know what color codes to jump out?
|
The "Z" plug is on the front of the CEP, in the center of, plug row. Here is a link to a screenshot of an '84 "Z" plug in a current flow diagram, it does not render well and may be different on an '85. Sorry but do not have any reference on an '85 or it's wire diagrams with wire colour. 2015-04-18_0642 - jon.winters's library
Red key is usually the "KEY". Quote:

'84 and '85 are completely different... you will spend a long time looking for Plug Z on an '85 - throw the photo away.
Before you disable the alarm - why? what symptoms do you have (what symptoms 'exactly'). If you want an opinion on your keys you'd do well to measure them, or post a photo showing relative lengths - 'side' shot if you want to avoid anyone seeing the coding... Full length of the key blade on a long key is ~53mm (from start of plastic head to tip) - don't measure the red one it may be different. Alan |
alrm disable 85 928
I have two long black keys one has a skinny plastic head, my problems are No start unless fuel pump relay jumped also no temp gauge readings or fuel gauge reading with new sender.I am tring to get a pix of the Temp sensor 2 told it is in front of engine I have three sensors that look kinda alike confused a bit ..
|
The alarm doesn't disable the fuel pump - the LH does.
The alarm disables the EZF relay so see if jumping that relay helps - I don't think it will help - and I don't think the alarm is the source of this problem. If a jumper in the EZK relay doesn't help then disabling the alarm won't help either... Alan |

I'm, sure you would appreciate someone posting a reference of the '85 original wiring diagram focused on your alarm wiring issues... It doesn't seem like you've got that yet. I only have '79 & '84 wiring info...
There are people here that would have the info. Best is to get the CD/manual which has been referred to on many posts. |
Got it Rich sent it to me
|
now I am looking for pointers on changing the timing belt.
|
Useful to have the wiring diagrams of course - but it clearly isn't the alarm in this case.
Seems to me that the LH may be a bit flaky. If you talked to Rich at Electronik Repair - he will be able to test and if needed fix it for you. Alan |
