Starting issue after engine is warm
SmileWavyI know I've seen this problem posted before, but can't find it. Porsche 928s euro starts fine when cold, but difficult to start after driving around for a bit. Any suggestions? Any help on where to start would be appreciated. Thanks

You don't give much details.
A general known issue is a failing/failed Fuel Accumulator will cause a warm no-start condition. |
Every model year had both US and Euro models, and lots change by model year.
Early CIS car nothing like L or LH. |
Check the fuel pressure regulator. Pull the vacuum hose off and check for a gasoline smell, if yes then the diaphragm is shot.

S4hounddog: thanks for the tip, I'll check it out. I was at work when I posted initial post and was in a hurry. The 928 in question is a 1980 Euro M28/11 engine with manual transmission. Engine always starts without any issues, but after driving a bit it does not want to start. I stopped for fuel and could not get it started without removing air cleaner filter and lightly pushing down on sensor plate. Appreciate any additional input on this matter.

While, or before, you are sniffing for gas...
check in right rear wheel forward compartment where Accumulator is for gas as well. On the '80 I do not believe you have a return line from Accumulator, and you would observe gas smell from a failed Accumulator. |
On my '82, the problem was an inexpensive check valve on the fuel pump. Easy starts when cold but a pain in the ass even during the short amount of time to fill the tank at a gas station.

80 Euro is CIS like the US 78/79. After the major failure smelling is done, you need a set of CIS fuel gauges and a shop manual to check pressures.
