Bolster wear?
I am talking to a guy with an s4 says the vehicle has 72k miles and there is a worn spot with a rip in the drivers side bolster. Is it common for a bolster to wear that much in 72,000 miles? Thanks

It only takes something sticking out of a back pocket to rip a bolster. A fat guy could wear one out in half that time.

Stepson,
Did you ever talk to your friend about selling his 85? I am still looking. I sent you a pm concerning this, but I am unsure if that is working for me. Thanks Gary Last edited by glmoore0001; 07-27-2015 at 02:38 PM.. |

I think age and treatment has more to do with interior wear than mileage. My 78 has about 60k miles and the seats were thrashed. Lots of sun damage.
Newer luxury cars imo have better wearing interiors but seems to be more engineered material. |

Yes, I forwarded him your information. I'll follow up with him.

Seat bolster is related to times in and out of car, care of the leather, exposure to the sun, and age, but not so much miles.
I have very little faith in most of the "low mileage" cars I've seen with few exceptions. |
