Exhaust gaskets

Howdy,

87 S4 Auto
Has there been any change to the exhaust gaskets that are used from the manifold to the head.

Specifically, a suitable substitute to the 8 round crush rings?

thnx

They use those little round seal rings. IIRC all of the 32 valve models use the seal rings, and 16V models use the exhaust gaskets.

I bought a set of custom headers for a non p-car application, and the manufacturer recommended no gaskets and black RTV. I don't recommend doing that though.
