928 phone dials

I just picked up a 79 928 that will be parted out (salvage title and rear quarter damage)

What's the value of the phone dials? And are all the 928 phone dials different than the 944 ones? These look a little different, and protruding more out of the edge of the rim than the 944 ones.

Little to no value to 928 owners. Your best bet is to find one of those weird vw guys that run them on their mk2/mk3's.....

15 vs 16 inch is your answer

Like everything...it depends on condition. If they are 16's and in 8/10 condition...easily worth $400.00 to a grand.

Do you have the original radio? (And, yes...I know it is different than an 78's...lol). And what color interior does the car have?

Brian.

Agreed with Brian. Lot's of early shark restoration taking place now, and phone dials, especially 16", are becoming sought after. Put them up on rennlist and they'll likely go fast.

The offsets on the 944 and 928 phone dials are different. AZ is right. They are virtually worthless. I cleaned up a couple years ago and sold 3 sets of early 928 wheels in great shape. (phone dial and flats). It took forever to unload them for $150-$200 set. Luckily some VW guys came along or they'd be in the scrap yard by now.
