Remove the steering wheel and instrument pod.
Remove the console. Watch for the screw from the glove box into the console. The dash is held in by a bolt and screw (or is it 2 bolts)on the far left and the far right underneath + the 3 allen head bolts that support the steering column. That's all.

Dash doesn't weigh much, I think its aluminum under the covering.

Im a pretty lucky Dude I guess . the dash came out much easier than I thought
I did find a very specific guide when I used my Google and simply wrote " how to remove a 928 dash " it included pictures along with specific advise it was exactly what you Gents mentioned I did cheat a bit and cut each end almost off using my trusty old Milwauki sawzal it just made life easier to get those 4 bolts off ... Wow , it literally is held on by very few fasteners just want you to know that it took longer to get the console and dash pod out than it took to get the dash out - I really did not need a sawzall at all Im not going to use the old dash since Im planning to make a simple aluminum one I was pretty surprised how easy the whole process was thanks for making life easier Gents I will add more pics of the car as things progress Im very excited which doesent happen so often when yur 66 years young ! I will still keep the dash pod and instruments |
