Okay, fellas, I think this about wraps it up, except for maybe one more shot once I have it reinstalled in the car. I've got all the major surfaces glued down and it's curing here on my wife's floor for the night. I'm hoping to do the little details before the weekend so that I can put the car together on Saturday and enjoy it for a few days before starting the next project.
Thanks for the helps and comments! If you're reading this a year or ten down the road, PM me, and I can give you a status of how it's held up over time. I'm doing the pod as well, but haven't been shooting any pix of it because i am doing it with basically the same process.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1481783166.jpg |
well that was an incredible save - you obviously know how to work with leather... and a sewing machine it looks like - great job - post a picture of it installed - always nice to see the finished product

Going in today. I don't know why, maybe because I'm working alone, but things always take days longer to do than I expected them to... or because I took the time to paint the defroster vent screens a pale yellow?

No progress on installing the dash and pod to report. Too busy with the holidays.
However, I did make a prototype Pascha Key ring at work today! It burned just a tad too deep, but I'll fix that the next time I make a run at it. (0:,'http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1483662252.jpg |
I would paint the screens flat black .
NOTE any lighter color will reflect the sunlight and cause you to see these vents reflecting on the inside of the glass, it will get old after the first 7 miles |
You're right, and I probably will. I'm hoping they'll be far enough forward that they won't glare too high on the windshield. They're a very pale yellow.

ME Holding Up Phone To Show a Picture: "Hey Honey, check it out, I got the new short-shifter installed and about 75% of the dash too!"
Da Wife: "Why is your car always broken? You should sell it, and buy something decent." So, sorry for uploading a picture that shows so little progress Fellas, but you guys are the only people who understand what it's like... :::sniff!::: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1484614679.jpg |
The main purpose of the online forums are so we don't drive our families and friends crazy.
