Proximity Support -

Hey Big Load - Like Mrmerlin indicated the only term I've ever seen used for that small triangular part is a "window guide". They are designed to provide some proximity support to the window glass as it is opened or closed at very high autobahn speeds. There are evidently some aerodynamic forces going on in that corner of the door that can potentially unseat the glass at that end of it's travel.

I've checked around with a couple of sources here in the states and you pretty well must try and find a damaged door in a foreign car salvage yard to remove this part.

Good Luck, Michael

Window Guide -

Hey Stepson - Sorry but I must have just missed the "Window Guide" in any of the illustrated parts break downs. There were a few drawings of other window and door trim related parts shown with a scattering of an assortment of near by items - but nothing seemed to point out the actual part number for the triangular window guide being discussed.

I'd just offered the information about chasing down a used part because I'd not determined that a new part was available. Perhaps he still needs a part number ?

Michael, I think Window guide would be a generic term for it. Porsche calls it a thrust wedge. Who knew?:)

6- 928 537 341 02 Thrust wedge /L 1
928 537 342 02 Thrust wedge /R 1
