Unplugging Temp II has no affect on engine..
I've been having idle/stalling issues in my newly aquired S4. I tested the Temp II while it's off the engine and while on and even at the LH and EZK connectors. It's within spec. Strange thing is that if I unplug it it has no affect on the engine. The engine doesn't even calibrate, it's like it's doing nothing. I thought it would shut off right away. I did this while engine is warm and cold. Is this normal? If not, how is the engine running without any input form the Temp II. I am having an intermittent idle issue when engine is warm. I'm suspecting my LH/EZK are toast and not picking up the signal and just running a back up map for the mixture. I tried this while engine is not having the idle issue. it idles 800 rpms when cold and 1000-1100 rpm when warm when it is not having any idle or stalling issues which is still not normal. Maybe the idle/stalling issue is happening when LH tries to pick up the signal and fails. Will try to unplug next time it decides to idle funny. By the way, it starts right up when cold or warm and pulls strong to redline even when it is having the idle/stall issue, I just have to put it in neutral and give it gas while left foot braking.
Hoping somebody can prove me wrong about the LH/EZK http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/sad2.gif
