Can anyone ID this connector?

So, I was digging around in the back of the car yesterday...

This lives under the carpet back near the side of the battery box on the end that is closest to the rear seats.

It looks nearly identical to one of those molex connectors used in old desktop computer power supplies for plugging into hard drives, etc.

Was there supposed to be some sort of Kanooter Valve back there that I'm missing?

Thanks!

Mine is an 1981. The Speedo works, as do all the rear lights. I can't figure it out, it has 12v going to it. Since it's close to the battery and spare tire, I thought maybe some kind of monitoring equipment plugs in?

Mine's a Euro with the fog light. It's on it's own circuit with a switch on the pod. Wow, this is a puzzle!

do the wires from this connector go into that grey sheath - if not could be an after market amp or something - if they do go into that sheath follow it under car and see where the come out - the area where that happens will give you some idea of what it could be...maybe

Tell us all you know, plus maybe a couple more pictures.

Connector doesn't quite look like a Molex to me, which doesn't have square corners to the sides, so it only fits one way.

What are the wire colors?

Which wire is hot? Is it always hot or only with Key in ACC or On?

Which fuse blows when you short it out. (just kidding, maybe)

The wire count and colors look different. 81 pict "looks" like 3 brown wires, with two blue and a something going to something else.
