brake master cylinder rebuild

hello, i have a 1989 porsche 928 s4 with automatic transmission. I tried using the cardone rebuild service for my master cylinder. They coated it and gave it back saying they could not rebuild it. I took it apart today and gauged the primary piston thing that goes inside the brake booster. and i chipped away that plug thing. Here is a picture of it. Do you think the porsche rebuild kit will replace these parts and make the booster working again?

Kudos for getting as far as you did..as it looks to be fairly involved. The bore of early 60's masters are relatively easier to restore than here. But that's the key, more so than rubber parts imo. If you could machine it to install a brass sleeve, that is often the manner some collector cars take.

Prices seem to be about $ 2 - 3 bills for a new one.

hey anderstein - it's been a while since i rebuilt the one in my 84 - it's a little different but if i recall you only get the rubber parts and the clips in the rebuild kit - they are really the things that wear out - if the cylinder itself is badly scored i think it needs replacing
