Question about clutch hose
Hi guys,
Got a question about the tube that comes out of the clutch master, in my car it's a hard (metal tube) all the way till it disappears towards the clutch slave. In the PET both 85 and 88 it shows a 2 piece tube, rubber and metal ?? Sox ![]() ![]()

It’s one piece comprised of a hard line and rubber hose.

Thanks campbelljj
My confusion is that in the PET it looks like this... ![]() My car's hose is metal all the way to the point it drops down towards the clutch slave at the fire wall. As I traced in my first 2 pics. Hence my confusion. Sox

Once again, don't believe the diagrams in PET. They are generic for all models in many cases.
Regarding the frozen nut: There is very little room to work down there (I am sure you know this already). You may have to take the clutch master off, cut that line, and then remove it on your bench. I believe that there are some changes to the clutch lines/hoses in the NA cars across years, but the turbo cars all have the same hard line going to the soft/hard combination line down to the slave cylinder. Don't you love working on your turbo?

Keith yah love it...like hitting your head against a wall, feels really good when you stop
![]() Thanks for the advice. The master is leaking hence the whole issue. Will cut and remove the master and get the the nut off with some "persuasion" on the bench. Sox

Next question:
What is the thread on the flare nut connecting the clutch master to the hard pipe ? closest I got was a m12 fine but that is not it. Second question: If I remember brake fluid will eat up a rubber hose, so what is the blue hose going from the master to the reservoir made of ? Thanks Sox

Silicone, and hard to find. You can get that blue hose from Pelican if you want to pay $$$, but there are other sources for metric silicone hose with fabric reinforcing outer case. Needs to be fuel compatible at a minimum.

I used this hard line. It comes un-bent so you have to bend it yourself, but the size 6mm and the flare nut M12 X 1 fit the master and the connect point next to the fire wall.
